Biography

Afsat Sanni-Suleiman is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of French, Faculty of Arts, University of Ilorin since January 2010. She taught French as a Foreign Language for many years in the College of Education before joining the services of the University of Ilorin. At the University of Ilorin, she teaches and supervises students’ projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She was a tutor, and then Director of the Linguistic Immersion Centre, University from 2017 to 2018. She also acted as the Head of Department from 2014 to 2015 and 2020 to 2022 respectively. Her area of interest are Sociolinguistics, Translation and Didactics (Français langue étrangère). She also has a flair for issues that border on gender and proverbs. She is presently an External Examiner at the Postgraduate level in the Department of French, at Ahmadu Bello University. She attended many conferences both at national and international levels. She has a lot of scholarly publications at both national and international levels. She was the Editor of Revue en ligne des Arts et des Lettres de l’université Louis de Montesquieu, Edition Spéciale en l’honneur du Professeur Isaiah Bariki, published in 2022. She currently working as an Editor of a book project.
